AMAZING FACTS ABOUT KOREAN MOVIE STAR LEE MIN HO

Lee Min Ho was born in Heukseok-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul. As a child, Lee had hoped to become a professional football player. He was selected for the youth football class of South Korean manager and former player Cha Bum-Kun, but an injury in the 5th grade of elementary school put an end to his dream. Lee, however, still keeps up with football and has stated that Cristiano Ronaldo is his favourite player. In his second year of high school, Lee turned to modelling and acting. After going through training, Lee started auditioning and landed minor roles in several television dramas such as Nonstop 5 and Recipe of Love. His official debut role was in an EBS series, Secret Campus. Early in his career Lee went by the stage name Lee Min because his agency thought his birth name was too ordinary. However, as his stage name was pronounced and written (Hangul) in the same way as the Korean word imin, which means "immigration", it made it hard for him to show up on internet search results. He eventually went back to using his original name.In 2006, his acting career was put on hold for a year following a serious car accident in which he was severely injured and spent several months bedridden. Upon recovery, Lee received his first leading role in the high-school drama Mackerel Run in 2007, but the series was reduced to only eight episodes due to low viewership ratings. In 2008 he appeared in various roles on television (dramas Get Up and I Am Sam) and two movies, Public Enemy Returns and Our School's E.T.. During the shooting of the latter he became good friends with Kim Su-ro, who later praised him on a variety show: "I recognize a star when I see one. When I was doing Our School's E.T., I knew that Lee Min-ho would become one of the top actors in the country".

Lee Min-ho has a considerable number of followers on social networks such as Facebook, Weibo and Twitter. As such, he has noticeable internet presence on social media, fan forums and online polls. In 2014 and 2015 (for two consecutive years), Lee Min-ho won an online poll organised by a Chinese entertainment magazine to crown the 'Asian Male God'. The term 'Male God' subsequently stuck with him in Asia.

VMAs Worst Dressed 2015: Kelly Osbourne, Amber Rose & More

The MTV Video Music Awards in LA on Aug. 30 drew quite the crowd — and the fashion was seriously on the next level. It was way more outrageous than ever before, but, unfortunately, a few stars totally missed the mark. From ill-fitting frocks to totally wacky style statements, sometimes the celeb set takes it a little too far — and that was definitely the case here! From loud looks to ill-fitting silhouettes, we’ve rounded out all the looks we didn’t like. Which one do you think deserves to take home the worst dressed title?
Kelly Osbourne may not be on Fashion Police anymore, but we’re calling them on her look. Her wide-legged pantsuit wasn’t the most flattering, and the all-over pinstripe print was a bit much. Kelly loves experimenting with her style, but this one was a miss in our book — sorry, Kelly! We would’ve rathered see the star flaunt her fantastic figure — especially because it’s the VMAs! A bright color, bold print or interesting silhouette would’ve been best — although we did love her bold purple hair.
The leading ladies weren’t the only stars who missed the mark on the red carpet — in fact, some dudes totally slipped up with their style choices. Michael J. Willett‘s colorful suit was way too loud, while Frankie Grande went overboard with the gold glitter.
While these stars didn’t impress us with their style choices, see who else made our worst dressed list and VOTE for who YOU think rocked the worst look of the night. Which look was your least favorite?
Who do you think was the worst dressed?

American Varsity To Award Scholarship To 5000 African Students

By Gbenga Akinfenwa on August 30, 2015
DINESH Shukla, the president of American International University (AIU), Gambia, has promised to give scholarship to over 5,000 African students yearly to ensure that the huge potentials in human and natural resources in the continent is optimally utilised.
To actualise this dream, he has already awarded scholarship to 10 victims of the Boko Haram insurgency in Maiduguri, Borno State and also granted 50 per cent scholarship (tuition) to 35 others from Nigeria studying in the school.
Shukla, who spoke to newsmen in Lagos, said his passion for quality education in the continent led to the establishment of the school in 2011, noting that in the next five years, the school would have successfully educated many African students for free.
According to him, the university, which has rapidly grown into three functional campuses within four years, is already close to its dream. “In spite of the high cost of education globally, I promise to bring respite to hundreds of African students in need of world class education at highly subsidised rates,” he said.
Shukla disclosed that the school is following American curriculum and that its students write American examinations and get the same certificates, which they would have obtained if they were studying in the United States. “We are committed to the promotion of human health.
We also emphasise on fundamentals of health sciences by stimulating innovations through education in dynamic learning environment. We wish to contribute to the advancement of medical sciences through discovery, research, scholarship and communications.
We are the only American International University in Africa to give medical education at the level of Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Dentistry.
Our students go through the same medical curriculum with students studying in the United States.” Shukla stressed that the university has also established College of Management and Information Technology to bring 21st century education to the doorsteps of African students, adding that it is collaborating with laboratories like the Centre for Disease Control (CDS) in United States, which has shown willingness to build a permanent lab in the school, so that they can help in case of emergencies.

Lagos-Ibadan Expressway is notorious for incessant fatal auto crashes. The busy expressway would have been in the headlines today if not what could be termed divine intervention.
The singing duo, PSquare were involved in an accident on the expressway in the early hours of Sunday on their way back from a show in Ibadan.
Their red Range Rover SUV in which they were travelling with their assistant manager was hit by a lorry and was dragged for about 12 seconds.
The twins and their co-travellers escaped unhurt from the accident. Grace or luck. Thanks to God for saving you two.

American arrested on Sierra Leone "blood diamond" charges

Workers pan for diamonds in a government controlled diamond mine June 15, 2001 near Kenema, Sierra Leone.
Spanish authorities have arrested a American man on charges of enslavement and diamond pillaging during Sierra Leone's civil war, a victims' association said on Saturday.
Michel Desaedeleer, who has U.S. and Belgian citizenship, is suspected of forcing enslaved civilians to mine for diamonds in Sierra Leone's eastern district of Kono between 1999-2001, according to Swiss-based Civitas Maxima.
During Sierra Leone's long conflict, the diamonds were sent to neighbouring Liberia where former President Charles Taylor used the proceeds to finance weapons for rebels.
"(The case) will help to raise awareness of the pivotal role played by financial actors in the trade of mineral resources that fuel armed conflicts in Africa and elsewhere," said Alain Werner, director of Civitas Maxima, which has been working for years to document the crimes and assist victims.
A Belgian investigation led to a European arrest warrant being issued against Desaedeleer earlier this year. He is normally resident in the United States.
More than 50,000 people died in the 11-year conflict and many more were left maimed by the notorious Revolutionary United Front. Taylor is now serving a 50-year sentence for war crimes. (Reporting by Emma Farge)

IT IS FORBIDDEN TO NURSE RANCOUR

What would be a better way of giving comfort to hearts, of removing sorrow and of providing coolness to the eyes than that man should live the life with a healthy and peaceful heart. His bosom should be free from the disturbances of rancour, jealousy and ill feelings for others. He should be glad to see others enjoying the comforts of life, and should consider it as a favor of Allah and think that all slaves are dependent on Him. He should remember the saying of the Messenger of Allah:
"O Allah ! The gifts that you have bestowed on me or on any other creatures, it is only on account of your favour, in which none is associated with You. All praises and all thanks are for You."
(Abu Daud)

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The gates of Paradise are not opened but on two days, Monday and Thursday. and then every servant (of Allah) is granted pardon who does not associate anything with Allah except the person in whose (heart) there is rancour against his brother. And it would be said : Look towards both of them until there is reconciliation ; look toward both of them until there is reconciliation; look towards both of them until there is reconciliation. This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Suhail who narrated it on the authority of his father with the chain of transmitters of MaIik, but with this variation of wording: ,(Those would not be granted pardon) who by cott each other."

Abu Huraira reported it as a marfu' hadith (and the words are) : The deeds are presented on every Thursday and Friday and Allah, the Exalted and Glorious. grants pardon to every person who does not associate anything with Allah except the person in whose (heart) there is rancour against his brother. It would be said: Put both of them off until they are reconciled.

Abu Huraim reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying The deeds of people would be presented every week on two days, viz. Monday and Thursday, and every believing servant would be granted pardon except the one in whose (heart) there is rancour against his brother and it would he said: Leave them and put them off until they are turned to reconciliation.

People Who Drink Water Before Every Meal May Lose More Weight On A Diet Than Those Who Don't

Drinking a pint of water before you get to the kitchen table may help you lose weight, a new research published in Obesity suggests.
Recruiting 84 obese adults to take part in a 12-week-long study, the authors, after providing the participants with an in-person weight management consultation, randomly advised half of them to drink approximately a pint of water (or two cups) 30 minutes before a “main meal”, and the other half to simply imagine themselves with a full stomach before they sat down to eat (A follow-up consultation by phone occurred two weeks in.)
Though both groups, on average, lost weight by the end of the 12 weeks, the water-guzzlers lost about 3 more pounds than the imagination group. Among the former group, those who said that they always drank before each meal, or “preloaded”, lost 9.8 pounds compared to the 1.76 pounds lost by those who only preloaded once a day or not at all.
"When combined with brief instructions on how to increase your amount of physical activity and on a healthy diet, this seems to help people to achieve some extra weight loss  — at a moderate and healthy rate,” said lead author Dr. Helen Paretti of the University at Birmingham in a statement . “It's something that doesn't take much work to integrate into our busy everyday lives.”
For those wondering how the authors managed to ensure that the participants actually went on their water ritual, they explained that they used “several measures of adherence...including 24 hour total urine collections.”
Though this study is preliminary, there is other research backing up the basic premise of preloading. A 2013 study in the International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition found that people who preloaded before a meal with low-calorie but nutritionally valuable foods like yogurt and salad (as well as water) experienced a greater decrease of weight and other risk factors of cardiovascular disease over a period of three months when compared to a control group.
Paretti and her colleagues hope to confirm their findings with a larger, more extensive trial. Should their little water trick continue to measure up well, it could be a real boon to those struggling with their weight.
"Losing a few extra pounds over the course of a year can be significant to an individual, and this could be an easy way to help with that weight loss,” Paretti said. “It's a simple message that has the potential to make a real contribution to public health.”

500 DAYS, NO GOODNEWS ON CHIBOK GIRLS

On August 27, it will be exactly 500 days since Boko Haram abducted more than 200 girls from their school dormitory in the town of Chibok in Nigeria’s north-eastern Borno State.
But despite military searches and international lobbying, no trace of the teenagers has been found.
“It really is a very painful experience. It’s traumatic,” says Allen, standing in front of the Unity Fountain in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, where the members of the BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) campaign - which was launched shortly after the abduction - meet weekly.
His bright red T-shirt reads “Never to be forgotten” in bold white lettering, one of the campaign slogans.
Like hundreds of other family members of the Chibok girls, the 45-year-old veterinarian is desperately clinging to the hope that at least some of the girls may still be found alive, almost 17 months after their kidnapping.

“We never envisaged that our girls would still not be rescued 500 days after their abduction. We are extremely saddened,” says BBOG spokesman Sesugh Akuma, who is also part of the gathering at the Unity Fountain, located in close proximity to the Hilton Hotel, a meeting point for Nigeria’s political elite.
To mark the 500 days of the girls’ disappearance, the activists have organised numerous events this week, including Muslim and Christian prayer services at the fountain, a tree planting ceremony and a march through the capital.
United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who visited Africa’s biggest economy this week, also pledged his continued support, calling the abductions “intolerable” and demanding once again the release of the girls.
The lives of the families affected by the kidnappings have been placed on hold since the fateful night of April 14, 2013.
In the town of Chibok, 14 parents, whose daughters were kidnapped, died since the incident, a representative of the Chibok parents association, Yakubu Maina, tells dpa.
“Most of them died due to heart-related diseases and trauma,” according to Maina.
“We cannot afford to move on without positive closure on this monumental tragedy,” BBOG co-ordinators Oby Ezekwesili and Hadiza Bala Usman said in a statement.
“We find their continued captivity extremely disturbing.”
Disappointed by the previous government of Goodluck Jonathan, who did not act for more than two weeks after the abductions became known, the campaigners say they have placed their hopes on newly elected President Muhammadu Buhari to find the missing children.
The former military leader was elected in March, partially due to his promise to stop Boko Haram, which seeks to establish a state with its very strict interpretation of Islamic law and has killed an estimated 14 000 people since 2009.
“We cannot claim to have defeated Boko Haram without rescuing the Chibok girls and all other innocent persons held hostage by insurgents. This government will do all it can to rescue them alive,” Buhari had pledged during his inauguration in May.
But the more time passes, the smaller the chances of finding the teenagers - and of finding them alive.
The BBOG campaigners continue to meet at the Unity Fountain every Thursday afternoon to keep the campaign alive, but even for them it’s hard to keep up the optimism.
“Taking several elements into consideration, the botched ceasefire agreement with the insurgents some time ago, the character of [Boko Haram leader Abubakar] Shekau and several realities on the ground.
we shouldn’t have hope that these girls will still be alive,” admits Bukola Shonibare, one of the campaign leaders.
Meanwhile, Boko Haram continues to abduct women and girls.
Thousands have been captured in past years and in some cases raped, forcibly married, trained to fight and made to participate in armed attacks, sometimes on their own towns and villages, according to human rights group Amnesty International.

10 YEAR OLD FOUND AFTER 30 HOURS IN WILDERNESS

Malachi Bradley, who went missing during a family camping trip in eastern Utah on Sunday, said he "remembered the survival skills his father taught him and curled up between rocks still warm from the sun to survive the cold mountain night," the Associated Press reports. "It was weird not having anybody with me, but I just kept going. I knew I had to make it back or my family would be really sad," he said after the ordeal. The 10-year-old was found alive by searchers after disappearing for more than 24 hours and surviving overnight temperatures in the high 30s.

Crying When You're Sad Makes You Feel Better... Eventually

Since we’re the only species to cry tears of emotion, you’d think that we would have all the answers as to why we cry, right? Wrong. We don’t really know why we cry. Some people attribute it to an emotional response to life events; others say it was a way of communicating before the emergence of language. While there are some reasons for crying, like releasing toxins, killing bacteria, and relieving stress, one thing most people can agree on is that after a “good” cry, we feel better. Now, there is some research to backs up this train of thought.
Researchers from the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands brought together a group of people to watch a couple of movies generally considered to be tearjerkers. The participants watched these emotionally charged films (La vita è bella (Life is Beautiful) and Hachi: A Dog's Tale) and were asked how they felt before, immediately afterward, and then 20 and 90 minutes afterward.
Out of those 60 participants, 28 of them cried during the films, while the other 32 didn’t shed a tear. Those 32 said they felt the same way at the beginning of the film as well as immediately afterward, and also noted that their moods remained unchanged 20 and 90 minutes later. On the other hand, the people who cried during the films reported feeling lousy immediately after the credits rolled. Twenty minutes later, however, the criers reported that their moods had returned to the levels they reported before the films began. But then, after 90 minutes, the criers reported they were in even better moods than before the movie.
It's easy to suggest that there was a yo-yo effect in which the criers simply felt sad while watching the movie, and then returned to their original mood afterward — that they only believed they felt better before. However, it seems that over a longer period of time, these criers did indeed feel an uptick in happiness.
So why did the criers feel better after crying? Though the researchers couldn't explain, the criers might have felt better for a number of reasons. Previous studies have found crying reduces stress by releasing toxins through our tears. These tears are called emotional tears, and they are one of the three types of tears our body produces. It's possible these criers also felt better because crying has also been shown to cause the release of endorphins, our body's natural pain killer, thus making them feel better. So, although they had just watched two sad movies, the criers may have been releasing the toxins of a stressful day, and when combined with endorphins, it resulted in a much better mood.

Evolutionary Psychology's Effect On Divorce: Married Women Carry 'Historical Baggage,' End Their Relationships More Than Men

Women initiate most divorces in the United States, but it’s not for the reasons we think, according to a new study presented during this year’s annual meeting of the American Sociological Association in Chicago.
Study author Michael J. Rosenfeld, a sociology professor at Stanford University, cited that the existing idea behind women driving the divorce rate was because they were more sensitive to the ups and downs of relationships. But the truth is, the reasons women no longer want to be married are “poorly understood.” Rosenfeld and his team commissioned a longitudinal study in order to gain some deeper insight.
He started by recruiting more than 2,000 heterosexual couples to take a survey called “How Couples Meet and Stay Together” in 2009; he followed up with more questions in 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2015. If at any point during these follow-up periods respondents answered their relationship with their spouse or partner was no longer intact, Rosenfeld asked questions to learn more, such as “Between you and [your partner], who wanted the divorce/separation/breakup more?” Participants were also given an opportunity to explain why their relationship ended.
Rosenfeld found women initiated 69 percent of divorces compared to just 31 percent of men. However, if men and women had been living together without getting married, each gender was equally likely to break up. Additionally, he found mutual breakups among the non-marital couples were more common.
To Rosenfeld, this suggests womens' tendency to want to divorce is not inherent to their relationships with men.
“Women’s inherent interest in marriage and commitment has usually been assumed to be higher than men’s inherent interest in marriage and commitment,” he explained. “Women’s supposed preference for marriage is a central feature of the gendered assumptions of sex ratio theory, and mens’ supposed preference for commitment-free sexual relationships is a staple of evolutionary psychology.”
Ultimately, Rosenfeld thinks that marriage as an institution has been “a little bit slow to catch up” with what men and women expect of gender equality. At the same time, the non-marital relationships that endure more amicable breakups could just lack this “historical baggage and expectations of marriages,” making them more flexible and more adaptable to modern relationships and romance.

Feminism For a Happier Relationship?

The divorce rate has been declining over the last few years — though it could be it was never accurately represented in the first place. According to The Huffington Post, the high divorce rate of the late 1970s and early 1980s may have just been a "historical anomaly," rather than an actual trend. HuffPo cited about 70 percent of marriages that began in the 1990s reached their 16th anniversary, which is up from an estimated 65 percent of those that began in the 1970s and 1980s.
Coincidentally, the women's rights movement has also made significant strides since the 70s and 80s, thanks in part to second wave feminism.
“Women’s and men’s expectations about marriage have certainly changed since the second wave feminist revolution,” Rosenfeld said. “Gerson’s ethnography of marital relationships in 1970s New York described a diversity of idealized and enacted gender practice within relationships, from traditional (husband breadwinner, wife homemaker) to more egalitarian. Couples who shared a traditional ideology or traditional gender practice explicitly embraced or implicitly accepted some aspects of patriarchy within relationships.”
But then couples with this more egalitarian approach were also making choices informed by second wave feminist critiques of heterosexual marriage — they’re constraining, uncomfortable, and controlling.
“So if wives in the 21st century U.S. continue to be less satisfied than husbands in their marriages and wives are more willing to desire divorce, and if the Second Wave Feminist critique of marriage as a gendered institution is correct, we might expect to find the gender marital satisfaction gap especially prominent in couples whose husbands hold traditional views about gender roles,” Rosenfeld concluded.

The world has gone nuts – First Bruce Jenner become a woman now Kris Jenner wants to get ‘back in bed’ with her ex Caitlyn Jenner(formerly Bruce) – And all these just to crank up the ratings on Keeping Up With the Kardashian Show, ‘KUWTK’…

According to HollywoodLife.com:
Kris Jenner, 59, knows a money-making stunt when she sees one, so it’s no surprise that the famous momager is now turning to Caitlyn Jenner, 65, to help boost her show’s ratings. What is surprising however, is that Kris actually wants to ‘remarry’ her ex. But is she really looking for another marriage, or is this strictly a money-making opportunity?
“Kris wants to remarry Caitlyn when it comes to work,” a insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “She sees a lot of potential and a lot of places to make money and she wants back in bed with her. When you are not able, ask for strength from the One who is Able

We all have moments when we look at a seemingly insurmountable obstacle and think to ourselves: ‘How can it be overcome? It does not seem possible.’
A prophet once thought the same thing. He stood in front of a barren land to which he was sent, and asked the question, “How can Allah bring this back to life after its death?”
Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala (exalted is He) showed him how He could. When the Prophet `Uzayr saw the town that was once razed to the ground, then a mere hundred years later filled with people and homes and markets, he exclaimed, “I know that Allah is over all things competent (qadīr)!” (Qur’an, 2:259)
Even before going into the linguistics of this name, many of us are at least theoretically aware of this attribute of Allah (swt). He is able to do all things, and we see this everyday in our very own existence. We read the Qur’an and know that Allah (swt) created this world from nothing, and He has the power to make it disappear.
For others among us, this attribute is not just an abstract notion. The knowledge that Allah (swt) is able to do anything and everything is precisely why we call on Him with so much certainty in our du`a’ (supplication). We might not call on Him with these Names specifically, but we ask Him because we know that He has the ability and power to respond to us and give us more.
Wa qadarū Allaha ḥaqqa qadrihi: And they did not appraise Allah with true appraisal.
Allah (swt) is al-Qādir (the Most Able), al-Qadīr (the Omnipotent) and al-Muqtadir (the Perfect in Ability), all from the root q-d-r (ق-د-ر). This root can mean ‘to measure something’ or ‘to make manifest the measure of something’, and thus gives rise to meanings such as ‘appraising’ and ‘power’ and ‘ability’. The horse that is aqdar is the one whose back-hoof falls exactly where his front-hoof was when running, as though perfectly measured and executed.
And thus it brings us to Allah (swt) who has the ability to decree and carry out His decree. When we talk about Laylat al-Qadr (The Night of Qadr), scholars disagree over whether it means the Night of Power or the Night of Decree, because the root may give rise to both meanings.
As Names of Allah (swt), all three words are found in the Qu’ran. Allah (swt) says:
“Do they not see that Allah, who created the heavens and earth, is [the one] Able (Qādir) to create the likes of them? And He has appointed for them a term, about which there is no doubt. But the wrongdoers refuse [anything] except disbelief.” (Qur’an, 17:99)
“And it is He who has created from water a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent (Qadīr).” (Qur’an, 25:54)
“Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers, in a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability (Muqtadir).” (Qur’an, 54:54-55)
Sheikh Abulrazzaq al-Badr explains the nuances between these Names. Al-Qādir is the One who is able to do everything, from causing things to exist to ceasing their existence, or causing them to change or to return them to what they were. Al-Ghazālī adds that, “God is all-powerful in that He could bring about the resurrection now, and He would bring it about were He to will it.” Al-Qadīr is the One who does what He pleases based on His decreed wisdom. Finally, Al-Muqtadir is an intensive form of the root which adds the element of absolute power that no one can stop or oppose.
I know God is capable of all things, I just know that I am not.
There are two ways of looking at these attributes of Allah (swt). We can view them in an abstract way, perhaps feeling great awe (which is a good thing) and then sit back. Sure, Allah (swt) is capable of all things, but we humans are limited.
Then there is another way of looking at these Names. Allah (swt) is able to do all things, and so whatever difficulty we face, we can overcome it if we seek strength from Him. At times, we are our own worst enemies. We stop ourselves from attempting something because of the belief that ‘there is no way this could happen’. We close doors that may have been open to us.
When you believe that Allah (swt) is capable of all things, you are open to more possibilities. It is not simply about positive thinking or hoping something will materialize out of thin air. It is knowing that because Allah (swt) is able, and He has revealed this attribute to you, you can derive strength from Allah (swt) and you have possibilities. Have you ever pondered over the du`a’ of istikhara (guidance)?
“If one of you feels inclined to do something then let that one pray two units of optional prayer, then say: ‘O Allah! I seek Your guidance by virtue of Your knowledge, and I seek ability by virtue of Your power, and I ask You of Your great bounty. You have power; I have none. And You know; I know not. You are the Knower of hidden things. O Allah! If in Your knowledge, (this matter*) is good for my religion, my livelihood and my affairs, immediate and in the future, then ordain it for me, make it easy for me, and bless it for me. And if in Your knowledge, (this matter*) is bad for my religion, my livelihood and my affairs, immediate and in the future, then turn it away from me, and turn me away from it. And ordain for me the good wherever it may be, and make me content with it.’” (Bukhari)
We say to Allah (swt), “I seek ability (أستقدرك) by virtue of Your power (بقدرتك).” We recognize that we have no power, but that does not debilitate us.
If we go back to the story of `Uzayr, Allah (swt) shows His power to both us and His prophet by bringing a dead town back to life. He showed us possibility where we could only perceive impossibility. Allah (swt) teaches us that He is able, and this has consequences for the way that we perceive things. We do not limit ourselves to one interpretation of reality, but realize that there could be multiple paths. This affects our actions.
Take the example of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (peace be upon him). If you had asked anyone in Makkah in the first couple of years of revelation whether they could imagine that the religion taught by the Prophet ﷺ would span the lands between China and Spain, they would have called you called crazy and delusional. You would probably have understood why – it seemed impossible at the time. But the Prophet ﷺ knew who Allah (swt) was. He was reminded in verse after verse about Allah’s (swt) ability, and he derived strength from that.
When something got difficult, he never saw the dead-end in front of him. He was able to see the whole picture and take alternative routes. When he was persecuted in Makkah, and knew it would get worse after his uncle passed away, he did not despair; he made plans to leave. When he was rejected in Ta’if, he did not tell himself that there was no use; he used the Hajj season, when all the tribes would congregate in Makkah, to seek help. When they were in Madina and an attack by the Meccans was imminent, he did not freeze up; he was open to the idea of building a trench. When the Meccans proposed a peace treaty and negotiated terms that appeared to be disadvantageous to the Muslims at the time, he did not concentrate on those terms; he focused on what this peace treaty would enable the Muslims to do.
This is the secret of all of the Prophets and the righteous. When Musa (peace be upon him) was being hunted down by Pharoah and his army, he said, “Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me.” (Qur’an, 26:62). The army of Talut, when faced with the much larger army of Goliath, said: “How many a small company has overcome a large company by permission of Allah . And Allah is with the patient.” (Qur’an, 2:249) When Hajar (peace be upon her) was left in the desert with her infant son, she ran back and forth between the mountains of Safa and Marwa. A person might have seen her and thought, “What is the use?” But when you believe that Allah (swt) is capable of all things, you are able to be open to different possibilities and alternative paths. And Hajar was given the well of Zamzam.
Connecting to al-Qadīr
  • Recognize that Allah (swt) is capable of all things.
  • When you supplicate, have certainty because you know that Allah (swt) is al-Qadīr
  • Be open to possibilities.
  • Pray istikhara before starting matters of importance.

How to tell you're having a migraine 2

YAWNING
Yawning a lot is another tip-off that a migraine is about to strike.
Unlike regular "I'm tired" yawning, it may be excessive and occur every few minutes.
In one 2006 study in the journal Cephalalgia, about 36% of migraine patients reported yawning was one of the signs of an impending migraine.
NUMBNESS OR TINGLING
Some people with migraines have sensory aura.
They may have a temporary lack of sensation or a pins-and-needles feeling, typically on one side of the body, moving from the fingertips through the arm and across the face.
NAUSEA OR VOMITING
According to data from the American Migraine Study II, a mail survey of more than 3,700 people with migraines, 73% experience nausea and 29% have vomiting. (The study was funded by a drug manufacturer.)
A recent analysis of the National Headache Foundation's American Migraine Prevalence and Prevention study found people with frequent migraine-related nausea have more severe pain and more trouble getting relief from medication than migraine sufferers with little or no nausea.
LIGHT, NOISE, OR SMELLS TRIGGER OR WORSEN PAIN
In the throes of a migraine attack, the migraine sufferer tends to seek refuge in a dark, quiet place. Bright lights and loud noises can trigger a migraine or intensify the pain. The same is true of certain odors.
"Once you've already got a migraine, smells can seem more intense and make it worse," Dr. Calhoun says. "But a smell can also trigger a migraine in someone who didn't have one before [he or she] walked past the perfume counter."
ACTIVITY TRIGGERS OR WORSENS PAIN
Routine activities such as walking or climbing stairs can make migraine pain worse.
Some migraines are induced by exercise (running, weight-lifting) or exertion (sexual activity). People with exertion-induced headaches require a thorough workup to rule out underlying causes, such as a brain aneurysm.
TROUBLE SPEAKING
Can't get the words out? Speech difficulties can be another sign that a migraine is on its way.
"A lot of people with migraines will feel like they're blithering," Dr. Messina says. "It's a common description by patients." If you are experiencing speech problems for the first time, contact a doctor to make sure the problems are not related to a more serious issue, such as a stroke.
WEAKNESS ON ONE SIDE OF THE BODY
When an arm goes limp, it can be a sign of a migraine.
Some people experience muscle weakness on one side of the body before a migraine attack. This can also be a sign of a stroke, however, so consult a doctor to rule out any other causes.
VERTIGO OR DOUBLE VISION
One type of migraine, called a basilar-type migraine, can cause dizziness, double vision, or loss of vision.
Some people with migraines may experience balance problems too. In a recent study, Dr. Calhoun and colleagues found a link between migraine intensity and dizziness or vertigo. The stronger the migraine, the more likely patients were to have these complaints.
"Our best conclusion is that it's actually part of migraines," she says. "It's a migraine symptom."
HEADACHE HANGOVER
After the migraine passes, a person may feel like her body has been pummeled.
In a recent study, researchers interviewed migraine patients and found that they commonly experienced symptoms such as fatigue, trouble concentrating, weakness, dizziness, lightheadedness, and loss of energy during the post-migraine period.
"It can be very fatiguing," Dr. Messina says.

Knowing the kind of headache you have is the first step to being able to treat it correctly, and more importantly, one step closer to relief.
